Uncontested Divorce
Uncontested divorce is the fastest, cheapest and least stressful way to divorce. Few divorce cases, including uncontested divorces, are free from disagreement. However, in a no-contest divorce, the disagreements are worked out prior to filing, thus simplifying the divorce proceedings, lowering your costs and keeping much of your personal information out of the proceedings and off the public record.
If you and your spouse can agree on the terms of your divorce, why pay high attorney fees? We offer very affordable prices for uncontested divorce.
Contested Divorce
A contested divorce is one in which the parties cannot agree on all or some of the issues and the unresolved issues must be decided by the court or a jury.
The issues that must be resolved in a Divorce include:

|
Jeffrey Hanna will handle each contested divorce two ways. He will attempt to resolve the issues through negotiation or mediation while preparing for trial. If the case is not settled, he tries the case before a judge or jury. Approximately 90 percent of all divorces are eventually settled prior to a final trial. Mr. Hanna has the knowledge, understanding and experience to help you reach a fair and equitable settlement of your divorce case. But, if settlement cannot be reached, he will fight for your rights zealously.
Child Custody and Visitation
Child custody refers to the legal guardianship involved in a divorce case. In Georgia, there are two forms—legal custody and physical custody.
Legal custody refers to decisions about the child's life. Religious, medical, and educational decisions are made by the legal custodian(s). Legal custody can be granted to one parent, or decisions split between both parents.
Physical custody refers to where the child resides. One parent may have sole physical custody, with the other receiving scheduled visitation rights. Or, both parents may share physical custody, which means the child lives with each parent a portion of the time.
The Best Interests of the Child
When deciding issues regarding child custody, courts in Georgia will place paramount emphasis on the best interests of the child and the environment that will provide the most stability. The courts consider many factors, including:

Child Support
In 2007, Georgia’s child support guidelines changed significantly. Where previously only the income of the parent paying support was ostensibly considered, the new law takes into account the combined income of both parents, along with the number of children to be supported, in determining the child support obligation. A child support obligation "table" is now used to determine how much child support will be paid or received.
